The world of Shadows of Fortune was forever changed in the wake of a catastrophic chemical incident. What was once a peaceful and thriving society was shattered overnight, with much of the population wiped out or left in chaos. The incident, which struck without warning, triggered an unprecedented collapse, and the survivors are now left to fend for themselves in a broken world.
It all began just days ago with a massive chemical spill at a secret industrial facility near Shadows Falls. Toxic clouds of chemicals spread rapidly, contaminating the air and water, and killing thousands within hours. Those who didn’t die immediately were exposed to a poisonous agent that caused violent mutations, madness, and uncontrollable rage. The town, once a quiet mountain community, was thrown into chaos as survivors scrambled for answers and resources.
Now, only a few days have passed since the incident, and the world is in ruins. Bodies lie in the streets, survivors hide in terror, and communication with the outside world has been cut off. Hopes for help from the government quickly faded as no aid ever arrived. The federal authorities remained silent, abandoning the survivors of Shadows Falls and other affected areas to their fate.
Local authorities and a few brave individuals tried to organize rescue efforts, but with so much of the population dead or mutated, there was little they could do. The government’s failure to respond, combined with the sheer scale of the disaster, has left Shadows Falls isolated and teetering on the brink of total collapse.

But survival comes first—mutated creatures roam the town, and rogue survivors fight over every scrap of food, shelter, and supplies.
Some survivors believe that discovering the truth behind the chemical disaster could offer a way to stop or reverse the contamination, while others are simply trying to outlast the horror. Every day is a fight for survival, and every decision could mean life or death.
