๐ŸšถQuest Progression

How quests are unlocked and tracked in the game.

In Shadows of Fortune, quests are essential for progressing through the game, gathering resources, and uncovering the secrets of Shadows Falls. The game uses a clear system of WoW-style quest markers that appear directly on the nodes of the map, guiding players toward their objectives.

1. Acquiring a Quest ๐Ÿ“

Quests can be picked up by visiting nodes on the map that display specific quest markers. Instead of interacting with NPCs or objects, players will see the markers directly on the nodes where quests are available.

  • Main and Secondary Quests: Nodes with a yellow exclamation point (๐ŸŸก) indicate that a main or secondary quest is available. These quests are key to progressing through the story and exploring new areas.

  • Farming Quests: Nodes displaying a blue exclamation point (๐Ÿ”ต) offer repeatable farming quests. These quests are designed to gather resources and can be achieved multiple times with a cooldown between each attempt.

2. Tracking Quest Objectives ๐ŸŽฏ

Once you have accepted a quest, the map will update to show the locations of your quest objectives using WoW-style markers. You can also track progress through your Quest Log, where all your active quests are stored.

  • Quest Markers on the Map:

    • Yellow circle (๐ŸŸก): Marks the location of your current quest objectives (e.g., areas to explore, enemies to defeat, or items to collect).

    • Orange circle (๐ŸŸ ): Highlights critical objectives in multistep quests that must be completed for the quest to progress.

    • Gray circle (โšช): Indicates optional objectives or secondary steps that arenโ€™t necessary for achieving the quest, but may offer additional rewards.

3. Achieving and Turning in a Quest โœ…

When all objectives of a quest have been completed, the corresponding node on the map will display a question mark, indicating where to return or finalize the quest.

  • Main and Secondary Quests: Once a quest is complete, the node will display a yellow question mark (๐ŸŸก), signaling that you can turn in the quest and progress further.

  • Farming Quests: After completing a farming quest, the node will show a blue question mark (๐Ÿ”ต). This indicates that the quest can be repeated after a cooldown period, and you can return to gather more resources when it becomes available again.
